Service work steps

First, the strap is removed from the watch. Then the movement, including the dial and hands, is removed from the case.

Movement cleaning

Here you can see a modern cleaning machine for mechanical movements. Different liquids clean the small components in several steps.

Replacing used parts

Each part of the movement is carefully checked. Parts that are worn out are replaced with original components.

Assembling and oiling your movement

The movement is reassembled. The STOWA watchmakers oil the movement using all their experience and the best oils. This guarantees the continued reliable use of your mechanical movement.

The regulation of the movement and testing of all parameters

The accuracy of the movement and all relevant parameters are tested and regulated according to the strict STOWA standards.

Assembling the watch and checking the waterproofness

The case receives new seals and the movement is reinstalled.

Quality Assurance & Shipping

The inspection of all incoming components that we receive from our suppliers is an essential part of our world-renowned quality. For this we need people with a sharp eye and a feeling for particularly high-quality materials. However, packaging and shipping at the end of the process are just as important as perfect assembly of the watch. Especially during the last stages of work, the fitting of the strap as well as the packaging, the greatest care is taken once again to ensure that your watch arrives at your door undamaged and in perfect condition. Our quality team, with Sabine Ölschläger and Julian Maaß, guarantees you a perfect handling.

Refurbishment

For us, refurbishment means, in addition to the technically necessary work to ensure functions such as precise time display or water resistance, also optical work on your watch. Many collectors have grown so fond of their watch that they value not only the pure functionality, but also the best possible optical condition. Depending on the model, the cases are, for example, repolished or polished and, if desired, straps are replaced. If refurbishment is not practical or not possible in terms of condition, we can also process brand-new case parts for almost all watches from 1996 onwards.

If you wish, we will refurbish your case like new. The original grindings and polishes will be applied. Almost any case can be restored to like-new condition. Sustainability begins for us with the selection of durable and high-quality materials.
