The movement

Many people love the daily ritual of winding the watch – the model for the new Flieger Original, the large original Flieger watch from 1940, had a Unitas movement that had already been converted to an indirectly driven central second hand and has since become a real classic! And now comes the best part: the new Flieger Original comes with its own, newly developed STOWA-M1 manufacture movement! This is based on the tried-and-tested Unitas 6498-1 with center second conversion. The newly designed bridges are absolutely impressive, taking the already exceptional movement to a whole new level! The bridges feature a breathtaking, off-center stripe cut in the shape of a sunray, which emanates from the balance wheel and can be viewed through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal case back. But that's not all: the Unitas movement even has a stop-seconds function, which ensures optimum suitability for everyday use. The crown and ratchet wheel are finished with a sunburst finish and the bridge screws are elaborately thermally blued. There are also gold engravings that give the whole thing that certain something. The central seconds conversion has increased the number of jewels used by one to 18! Further visual refinement of the movement is achieved by smoothing and polishing the bridge edges.
