Future. Sustainable. Intelligent.
The STOWA future concept SERVICE 2.0
Mechanical watches are already sustainable by nature. So why worry about anything else? We at STOWA like to think - sometimes even around the corner. Therefore we asked ourselves the question whether there are possible optimizations in the area of service - careful use of resources - time processes - the benefit of future technologies. We found what we were looking for and developed a new idea. The basis is first of all the DNA of STOWA: openness, transparency and authenticity. The result is an instruction manual - available worldwide on the Internet - on how to maintain and repair specific STOWA watches. For this purpose it has become necessary to make all technical measurements and dimensions of the wearing parts transparent for every customer. Thus we enable every watchmaker worldwide - no matter where he is located - to perfectly maintain or repair a STOWA watch. Gaskets, glasses etc. can either be obtained on the free market on site or can be sent by us directly in small and resource-saving letters. On the other hand, sending complete watches back and forth not only costs a lot of money (transport and insurance), it also unnecessarily burdens the environment because of the necessary shock-proof, stable packaging. The necessary special logistics chain by plane and special local parcel services can therefore be avoided. The new concept enables regional maintenance, fast, effective, cost-effective and sustainable. AND: The future publication of reproducible 3D design data for parts such as crowns, hands, but also the necessary gaskets made of plastic or rubber will have further positive effects: In a few years, it will be possible to have relevant parts reproduced on site by a 3D printer and thereby keep the mechanical watch usable for decades to come in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner. Today, there are already 3 D metal printers that are capable of printing the smallest parts such as crowns and hands in an adequate quality. The future will bring a lot in this area and with the STOWA Service Concept 2.0 we create the necessary conditions to keep our watches in good condition as long as possible and no matter where in the world they are. Here you will find the first data and explanations for our models Antea 390 Dynadots and Flieger Verus.
-
Antea 390 DynadotSee and read here which spare parts you need to get, e.g. to make the housing of the Antea 390 Dynadot waterproof again after a service. We recommend replacing the gaskets every 4-5 years.

-
TubeThe tubus is the connection between the crown and the movement. The crown is very relevant to keep the watch water resistant for as long as possible.
-
CrownThe crown is used frequently. Accordingly, the gaskets in the crown are subject to a high degree of wearing. We change the crown or the gaskets every 4-5 years. You can see the dimensions of the crown after clicking on the picture.
-
HandsOver the years, hands can get damaged after several service jobs on the movement. After clicking on the picture you will see the hand dimensions of the model Antea 390 Dynadots.
-
OilplanFor maintenance of the movement, we use the following oils, which are also recommended by ETA, the manufacturer of most STOWA movements. > Moebius HP-1300 or Moebius D5. > Moebius 9010. > Moebius 941 or Moebius 9415.

VerusSee and read here which spare parts you need to get, e.g. to make the housing of the Verus waterproof again after a service. We recommend replacing the gaskets every 4-5 years
